Abstract

PT. Waskita Beton Precast Batching Plant Jakabaring Palembang is a company engaged in the manufacture of readymix concrete in the city of Palembang. As one of the large companies engaged in the manufacture of readymix concrete in the city of Palembang, PT Waskita certainly feels business competition. This has resulted in companies being required to continue to make efforts to improve efficiency and productivity throughout the flow of the production process. Eliminating or reducing waste is considered to increase the efficiency and productivity of the process. To eliminate waste in the company, a research was carried out aimed at knowing the waste that occurred in the process of making readymix concrete and the root causes of the waste. The data used in this study were questionnaire data, interviews and field observations. Based on the research results, the largest waste is defect waste with a score of 54.12% and the smallest waste is improper process waste with a score of 39.76%. In order to achieve sustainable company effectiveness and efficiency, companies need to eliminate waste that exists in the company.
