Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability level of the chemistry textbooks of SMA/MA class X electrolyte and non electrolyte solution material to 4 aspects of the content standards the 2013 curriculum formulation, namely of core competence aspects, basic competence aspects, material adequacy aspects and material depth aspects. The research method was qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through documentation studies, namely written documents in the form of SMA/MA class X chemistry textbooks on electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions. As for the text books that were studied there were 3 books, namely book A, book B and book C recommended by the ministry of education and culture. The instrument used in the analysis sheet of student’s book based on Activity Guidelines Accompaniment of 2013 Curiculum Implementation. The results present that the compatibility of 10th grade chemistry textbook electrolyte and non electrolyte materials with 2013 curriculum formulation 4 analysed aspect, the biggest percentage achieved by book A (92%), then book C (79%), and book B (77%). The textbooks that have been analyzed show that the three books are not fully in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. The text book can still be used, it’s just that the role of the teacher is needed to achieve competence in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
