Abstract

The focus of this research is to protect computer networks by implementing port security to limit port access on switches in order to improve performance on switches and prevent unauthorized access to network connections and reduce data theft on computer networks. In this study, three test scenarios were carried out: (i) port security violation protect data packets from the device or device will be discarded (terminated) and therefore cannot be connected, (ii) port security violation restrict device data packets will not be discarded (terminated). , but will only be recorded, and then not allowed to enter the network, and (iii) the port security violation shutdown port will immediately shut down, and the device will not be able to connect automatically. The results after testing are successful in limiting port access on the Cisco switch.
