Abstract

PT Djava Berkah Mineral located in East Petasia Sub-district, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province is contractor company from PT Bukit Makmur Istindo Nikeltama. PT Djava Berkah Mineral is a company engaged in the nickel mining industry since 2017 and has 3 pits, namely pit A, B, and C in the Keuno Block. Pit A has been mined and become disposal, pit B is being mined, and pit C is being planned for mining. The initial design of pit C has been provided by the owner company, but the design has not been adjusted to the optimization parameters. Therefore the pit optimization process is carried out so that the design obtained is in accordance with the parameters that used, namely economic parameters such as ore mining costs, overburden stripping cost, salary and meal costs, production targets, cut-off grade, and contract by the owner company, as well as technical parameters such as bench 5 m, berm 1 m, and slope 56 ° that has been determined by the company. The pit design was made with the help of Surpac 6.6.2 software, then the optimization process was carried out with the help of 3DMine software, and map making was carried out with the help of ArcGis ArcMap 10.4 software. Furthermore comparison of maps, pit limits, and reserve estimates are carried out before and after optimization. Pit limit and reserve estimation after optimization are smaller than before optimization because only levels above COG are taken and other parameter factors. The final result obtained is the best pit limit with optimum reserves and provides maximum profit.
