Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of quail egg position (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) inside the incubator rack on hatching power on automatic hatching machine with roll type reverse. This research was conducted from March 2021 to June 2021 in The Laboratory of Machinery and Workshop, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research was conducted by descriptive method with the presentation of data in the form of graphs and tables related to hatching power, fertility, temperature, humidity and egg water needs in automatic egg hatching machines with roll type reversing. The results of this study showed that the temperature and humidity of the environment did not affect the hatchability of quail eggs. For the average hatching power value obtained in this study 80-100%, for the highest fertility value that is in the 1st experiment with a value of 97.78%, for the average temperature of the incubator machine in the test was at 37.2-37.6°C and for the average humidity of the incubator machine in hatching is at a humidity of 63-71%. The average water requirement used per day is about 0.047-0.057 L/day. Position arranged in racks with division of 9 Shelves are very effective and efficient because it produces high hatching power as well as an influential reversal process in the hatching process with reversal every 8 hours and perform egg cutting on the 4th and 11th day to see fertile eggs and infertile eggs.
