Abstract

Opportunities oyster mushroom cultivation Pleurotus ostreatus in Palembang quite interested by the business community because it has advantages include low capital, rapid proliferation and quite profitable, but the waste generated baglog not maximized exploited and polluted the environment. The study was conducted to analyze the effect of activators manure (beef or chicken) to determine the quality of the compost and compost doses as a growing medium green cabbage. The content of C-Organic, N-total, pH, temperature is measured daily and analyzed to determine the maturity of compost. Leaf area, wet biomass, dry biomass, and the amount of chlorophyll measured and analyzed to determine the dose of good compost in the production of green cabbage. Research done at home compost and greenhouse SMAN 1 Palembang from January to May 2015. Analysis of compost maturity test with various activators conducted at the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Unsri Indralaya. The results showed criteria of good compost to be used as fertilizer is an activator of cow manure composting 20% for a month, containing : C-Organic (29,34%), N-Total (1,58%), pH (8,16), C/N (18,67), the average temperature of the compost at a depth of 10 cm is 340C and a depth of 30 cm is 370C. The composition of the plant growing medium green cabbage (Brassica rapa var. parachinensis L.) which is good soil composition 60:40 compost v/v. Leaf area at third week is 184,5 cm2, leaf area at Fourth week is 253,3 cm2, wet biomass (42,22 grams) nd dry biomass (2,46 grams). Total chlorophyll of last leaf is 47,98.
