Abstract

ABSTRACT : BIS has potential as an animal feed ingredient because it contains protein content of 14.19-21.66% and fat 9.5-10.5%. Pineapple skin still has good nutritional value, namely dry matter 88.9503%, ash 3.8257%, crude protein 8.7809%, crude fat 1.1544% and reducing sugar as much as 13.65%. However, the use of both wastes in the feed of H. illucens maggot is limited by the high content of crude fiber and makes the feed difficult to digest. For this reason, a fermentation process is necessary. It is known that one of the contents of EM-4 is cellulosic bacteria which has the ability to degrade crude fiber in palm kernel cake waste and pineapple waste. The study was carried out from December 2020 to March 2021, this research was an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 5 treatments each with 5 repetitions. The independent variable used in this study was the variation in maggot feed. The dependent variables used in this study are the consumption rate, conversion efficiency and growth rate. The data obtained will be presented in the form of tables and graphs, then the data is processed using SPSS version 26.00 with one-way ANOVA analysis and continued with Duncan's further test. The conclusion of this study is that the value of the consumption rate does not determine (affect) the value of the growth rate of maggot H. illucens. ABSTRAK : BIS berpotensi sebagai bahan pakan ternak karena mengandung kadar protein 14,19-21,66% dan lemak 9,5-10,5%. Kulit nanas masih memiliki nilai gizi yang baik yaitu bahan kering 88,9503%, abu 3,8257%, protein kasar 8,7809%, lemak kasar 1,1544% dan gula reduksi sebanyak 13,65%. Akan tetapi penggunaankedua limbah dalam pakan maggot H. illucens dibatasi oleh tingginya kandungan serat kasar dan menyebabkan pakan sulit dicerna. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan proses fermentasi. Diketahui salah satu kandungan EM-4 yaitu bakteri selulotik yang memiliki kemampuan dalam mendegradasi serat kasar pada limbah bungkul inti sawit dan limbah nanas. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2020 sampai dengan Maret 2021, penelitian ini berupa eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 5 perlakuan masing-masing pengulangan sebanyak 5 kali ulangan. Variabel independen yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah variasi pada pakan maggot. Variabel dependen yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah laju konsumsi, efisiensi konversi dan laju pertumbuhan. Data yang diperoleh akan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel serta grafik, kemudian data diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 26.00 dengan analisis ANOVA satu arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut duncan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu besarnya nilai laju konsumsi tidak menentukan (mempengaruhi) besarnya nilai laju pertumbuhan pada maggot H. illucens.
