Abstract

Coal crushing activities at PT. Laksa Utama services use two line crusher combined with one stacking conveyor.From the production data for March, the monthly production target has been achieved, but the performance of the equipment has not been optimal. The theoretical productivity of the use of two line crushers 1396 tons/hour and the actual average productivity is 1039.45 tons/hour with the company's target is 1000 tons/hour. Unit capacity crushing plant which is too high will result in overcapacity.This can be seen from the high idle time on the unit crushing plant because feed incoming is unstable and unable to keep up with the unit's ability crushing plant, Based on the results of observations for 1 week, the average empty time in unit crushing plant,seen from the emptiness on transfer conveyor due to lack of incoming feed is 96.51minutes/day.This resulted in the efficiency of production work that has not been optimal, among others,chain feeder 74,47%, primary crusher11,88%, secondary crusher 23,91%, transfer conveyor 42.54%, and stacking conveyor 44.31%. Number of units crushing plant with a lot of manpower and limited time for Daily Examination and Checking (P2H) resulted in P2H activities being not optimal. Efforts that can be made to optimize unit performance crushing plant is by standby 1 line crusher,with speed modification on chain feeder to 16.65 meters/minute transfer conveyor to 2.6 m/s, and stacking conveyor to 1.9 m/s then with circumstances feed constant, the company's target of 1000 tons/hour will be achieved by using 1line crusher course.
