Abstract

Pepper shrubs are plants produced from vegetative propagation using cuttings derived from fruit branches. This aims of study were to determine the effect of vermicompost and liquid organic fertilizer on C organic soil, N soil and plant also the production of pepper shrub in floating agricultural systems. This research was carried out in the Floating pool and the Chemistry, Biology, and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted in October 2020 to January 2021. This study used a Randomized Block Design Factorial, which contained 10 treatments consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the vermicompost factor consisting of 5 levels, namely V0 (0 g plant-1), V1 (250 g plant-1), V2 (500 g plant-1), V3 (750 g plant-1), V4 (1000 g plant-1). The second factor is liquid organic fertilizer with 2 levels, namely P0 (0 ml plant-1), P1 (50 ml plant-1). The results showed The results showed that the Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) treatment had a significant effect on the increase in soil organic C and soil N. Vermicompost treatment and the interaction of the two treatments showed no significant effect on Organic C and Total N of soil and plants. In the vermicompost treatment, the highest increase in soil organic C and soil N was produced by a dose of 1000 g plant-1. The best increase in plant N was produced by vermicompost at a dose of 500 g plant-1. In the treatment of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) a dose of 50 ml plant-1 resulted in the best value for increasing organic C and soil N. The combination of vermicompost treatment of 1000 g plant-1 with Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) 50 ml plant-1 gave the best results for soil N. The combination of vermicompost 1000 g plant-1 with Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) 0 ml plant-1 gave the best results on leaf count and soil organic C. The combination of vermicompost treatment of 750 g plant-1 with Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) 0 ml plant-1 gave the best yield of plant N in floating agriculture systems.
