Abstract

PT Bukit Asam Tbk conducts coal mining with one of the demolition activities carried out is the process of decomposing overburden or interburden material using drilling and blasting methods. This activity sometimes results in a discrepancy in the size of the fragmentation resulting from the explosion on the bucket capacity of the digging tool, thus affecting the productivity of the digging tool in material loading (loading time) lower and causing the blast recovery value to be lower. Burden size, spacing and depth of blast hole in the field have different values from the design geometry value in the field with errors ranging from 50 cm - 1 meter. Thus, the size of the resulting fragmentation can be more than 1 meter in size with the percentage of fragmentation size ranging from 42.51% - 59.29%. These results give the loading time of the digging tool material (power shovel PC 3000) with the largest loading time with a boulder size of more than 1 meter of 12.47 seconds and the smallest loading time of 9.02 seconds. Based on the productivity calculation on the digging tool and the comparison of blasting volume values, the blasting recovery value of 66.73% indicates that the blasting and loading activities have not been running optimally which means that to be able to carry out further mining activities, we must wait for the loading of the cover material from the previous blasting to finish. in order to prepare the new location for the next mining activity.
