Abstract

The checking activity for inventory item data in the area of Electrical Engineering, Sriwijaya University is still doing manually. To help and facilitate for every inventory data collection activity, it is needed an items barcode scanning application system that can be accessed by mobile through smartphone. by this application, it is not only giving the information for the item data, but it is also making a good structure system for the item data information. This system seizes the Scanner Barcode to search the item data accurately by using camera in smartphone to scan data based on Android. The testing of the application prototype was using the method of Black Box testing which is used for validation testing based on created scenario. This application was using the Extreme Programming (XP) method and system requirements analysis of system needs with 4 diagrams which were usecase diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and class diagrams.The result of the Black Box testing have showed that every given scenario was valid and every function in this application have run just the same like its function. The final result of this system design is an android-based application that is ready to be used for checking the item data.
