Abstract

Central obesity is a condition of abdominal fat that has accumulated excessively in the abdomen or abdomen. In general, the causes of central obesity are age, physical activity, energy intake, protein intake, fat intake, carbohydrate intake and stress. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity, macronutrient intake, and stress on the incidence of central obesity in housewives in Umo Jati Village, Empat Lawang. The study design used in this study was cross sectional, conducted in Umo Jati Village, Empat Lawang in 2021. The research sample consisted of 68 people. Sampling technique is purposive sampling. The relationship between physical activity, macronutrient intake and stress on the incidence of central obesity was analyzed using the chi square test with a significance level of <0.05. Presented in tabular form accompanied by narration. The results showed that central obesity was significantly related to physical activity (p=0.003), energy intake (p=0.001), carbohydrates (p=0.003), protein (p=0.034) and fat (p=0.005), on the contrary stress (p=0.005). = 0.465) did not show a significant relationship to central obesity. It was concluded that physical activity and macronutrient intake had a significant relationship with the incidence of central obesity among housewives in Umo Jati Village, Empat Lawang.
