Abstract

The objective of this study was to test of yield the selected F6 lines of cayyenne pepper x curly chili crossing, so that the best genotypes obtained do not aggregate genetically and are able to compete check varietys. The research was conducted in Maret – August 2021 at the Research Station of Agriculture Collage of Sriwijaya University. Two selected F6 lines (P2.7 and P2.23) and two check varieties ( Laju F1 Varietys and Dewata 43 F1 Varietys) were growin randomize bloc design with three replications. The quantitative variables of research were dichotomus branch height, canopy width, total number of fruit per plant, flowering date, harvest date, frequency of harvest, total of flower, lenght of fruit, diameter of fruit, total fruit weight per plant, number of seeds per fruit, and yields. The qualitative variables of research were flower position and level of spiciness. Lines F6 progeny from Crossing of cayenne pepper with curly pepper had homogen or not aggregate genetically although not 100%. Based on the best value on the variables of canopy width, total of flower, and level of spiciness, the selected line G2 yieldeed less then check varietys. However, line G2 had the best level of spiciness and total of flower. While on the variables total number of fruit per plant based on the best value, the selected G1 was almost equal to G3 and was able to exceed G4.
