Abstract

Clustering of music based on emotion aims to grouping the music based on the appropriate emotion of the music itself. This research analyzes music clustering based on emotion using Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering algorithm where grouping the music with more specific clusters. The emotion is based on Robert Thayer’s emotion model, which grouping the emotion into 4 elements. The extraction process of the music feature in this research is using three kinds of method, that is Short Time Energy, Spectral Flux, and Spectral Roll-off. Cluster results are then validated using the Xie-Beni index to get the best cluster of all groups. The research was conducted with 5 variations of test data, which is 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 data. The smallest value of the validation process is on 80 data with 3 clusters of data. The accuracy of the music emotion in the clusters with the actual emotion of the music is 70% on average.
