Abstract

Lactobacillus bulgaricus is probiotic bacteria that are widely used for the manufacture of functional foods. Avocado seed oil is known to have many benefits due to its fatty acid content. The combination of Lactobacillus bulgaricus bacteria with avocado seed oil is done to see its ability to improve the immune system. The components of avocado seed oil were analyzed using GC-MS. The parameters of the immune system observed are the total number of leukocyte cells, differential leukocyte cells and CD4 T cells. The total number of leukocyte and differential cells of leukocyte cells were observed using hematology analyzer, while CD4 T cells were observed using Pima analyzer. The test animals in the form of male white rats wistar strains are grouped into 7 treatment groups. The results of the GC-MS analysis showed that the content of palmitic acid was 8,66% and oleic acid was 80,16%. Analysis of one way ANOVA test with post hoc test parameters followed by Tukey test showed that at the dose of Probiotics 1 mL/Kg BB with avocado seed oil 1 mL/Kg BB there was a significant increase in the total number of leukocyte cells, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, and CD4 T cells (p<0,05) with a value of respectively 17,5±3,11.103 Cells/μL, 4,11±1,02.103 Cells/μL, 1,89±0,41.103 Cells/μL; 11,87±2,09.103 Cells/μL, and 6,67±3.06 Cells/μL. The higher the dosing of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and avocado seed oil, then make higher the increase in the total number of leukocyte cells, leukocyte cell differentials and CD4 T cells. Keywords: Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, Avocado Seed Oil, Leukocyte Cells, CD4 T Cells.
