Abstract

ABSTRACT This study deals with cutting force optimization in end milling Ti-6Al-4V using TiAlN coated solid carbide tools. Genetic Algorithm (GA) was utilized for finding the optimum cutting conditions such as cutting speed (V), feed per tooth (fz), and radial rake angle (γo). The results were compared to that had been generated using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). It was found that GA-results are more accurate than RSM-results which have been validated using data taken from the design of experiments (DOE).
