Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the Indonesian government's policy in beef import practices in 2015-2019. The increase in beef imports that occurred in the 2015-2019 period contradicts one of the Nawa Cita Jokowi-JK points contained in the Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM). This research is also supported by decision-making theory and Simon's Model of Decission Process. The method used in this study is a qualitative research which aims to describe the facts related to the research problem and then become an appropriate and relevant summary. The data that the author uses in this study are secondary data obtained from literature studies related to the research theme in the form of books, articles, journals, written media, and official documents, to the annual reports of the relevant organizations or ministries. The results of the analysis in this study indicate that the factors that influence decision making on beef import policies in 2015-2019 are the level of domestic beef production that does not meet national needs, besides that beef import policies are taken because there are bilateral agreements with other countries in the field of beef imports and also comply with existing regulations at the international level.
