Escherichia coli infection usually through the consumption of contaminated drink, like use water that was not proceeded first. Coconut water with contaminated of Escherichia coli would bring a disease which is a diarrhea. This research using cross sectional analitic study. The population of this research is the whole coconut water vendors at Seberang Ulu I District and Seberang Ulu II District. This research used 30 samples of coconut water at Seberang Ulu I District and Seberang Ulu II District as a sample and choosen based on proportional cluster sampling method, Escherichia coli in sample of coconut water is measured by identification method. Data analysis are univariate and bivariate using chi-square statistic test. The result of bivariate test, there is two independent variables has a significant relation to contamination of Escherichia coli which is, personal hygiene (p value = 0,045 dan RP 95% CI = 2,500), and tool hygiene sanitation (p value = 0,009 dan RP 95% CI = 5,174), and there is one variable has not significant relation between contamination of Escherichia coli and places hygiene sanitation (p value = 0,128 dan RP 95% CI = 3,400). Hygiene sanitation of coconut water vendors is still classified into poor condition it causes the lack of knowledge of the vendors. It’s necessary to increasing the knowledge about hygiene saitation by giving a counseling and awareness from Palembang government were need to do.
