Abstract

The suicide bombing of the Makassar cathedral on March 28, 2021 sent various media scrambling to highlight the case. Basically the media is not entirely neutral, because mass media has certain interests. Media and terrorism are two main subjects that have attracted public attention because of their attachment to certain aspects. Mass media with terrorism can be compared to a symbiotic relationship between mutualism and mutual benefit. By using the framing theory of Zhongdang pan and Gerald M. kosicki and the media political economy can figure out how the event was portrayed and contained by the Republika.co.id. Researchers use a qualitative approach, and the number of news analyzed was 8 news. Based on the research found that the Republika.co.id in this preaching concerned more with statements from religious figures, with nothing religious about terrorism.
