Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever disease is a disease caused by DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, or DEN-4 viruses. This disease can be transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes which carry the dengue virus from other DHF sufferers. DHF is still an important public health problem. Ae. aegypti prefers residential areas and lays their eggs in air reservoirs. Some of the water sources used by the people of Indonesia are PAM water, well water, and rain water. This study aims to determine the hatchability of Ae. aegypti in three types of air so that it is expected to provide information to the public about potential breeding places for Ae. aegypti take precautions and eradication of breeding sites. Methods: This research is an experimental study with Post Test Only with Control Group Design. The sample in this study was the eggs of Ae. aegypti as well as water samples (well water, rain water, and PAM water). Results: The type of well water is the type of water with the highest number of hatching, which is 48 grains. The second order is for the type of rain water, which is 14 grains, then the type of PAM water is 5 grains, and the least is distilled water, which is 4 grains. The hatchability of well water is 26.66%, rain water is 7.77%, PAM water is 2.7%, and distilled water is 2.22%. Conclusion: The type of well water is the type of water with the highest number of hatching, which is 48 grains. And obtained a significant difference in hatchability of Ae. aegypti in three types of water.
