Abstract

This study aims to discuss Greenhouse Gases in China and analyze the government's strategies and efforts in overcoming the country's environmental crisis. The author uses the theory of Environmental Neoliberalism by Manish Bapna, Helen Mountfrod, and Janet Ranganathan (2019). The research method used is descriptive-qualitative analysis method. The source of data used by the author is a literature study by collecting secondary data. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting secondary data in the form of research, uploads and publications on the official website of China government. The results of this study indicate that China government's effort in overcoming the environmental crisis, either resolving internally or involvement with various international agreements and conferences, has a positive impact on the country such as China's 13th five year plans which focus on how to overcome unbalanced growth with ecological sustainability. Then the allocation of funds by the Central Bank of China (PBoC) and the Beijing Shenwu Environment & Energy Technology Corp, which has implemented regulations to support the green economy transition. This shows that there is a need for collaboration between the private sector, government and the involvement of civil society such as the grassroots NGO Friends of Nature by helping to advocate for the environment. As for China's openness to foreign countries which results in foreign investment such as development and technology transfer by developed countries is considered capable to help the China government in achieving low carbon emission targets in the future.
