Abstract

The aims of this study is to analyze the health condition of the banking, this study will also look at the changes that occur due to the United States crisis. Samples of this study is the bank with each own group based by the size of the Capital and assets as follows the BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BCA, CIMB Niaga, and DANAMON. The analytical tool that used in this study is CAMEL financial ratio that based on the provisions or regulations of Bank Indonesia in the assessment of PB1 N0.6/IO/PBI / 2004 which includes 5 main ratio (CAR, NPLs, BOPO, ROA, ROE, and LDR), but this study did not measure the ratio of sensitivity to market risk, due to the limited published data. Furthermore, this study use a paired-samples TEST for difference test on paired samples. The results is that CAMEL Financial Aspect Ratio, Overall banks have changes before and during the American crisis, the results obtained by paired-samples test, where there are some CAMEL ratio changes. In the sector of Capital and asset quality, t-count showed a positive result indicates that banking performance before crisis is better than during the times of the crisis but in the management sectors, profitability, and liquidity ratio during the crisis was better than before the crisis.
