Abstract

LBP in pregnant women is a musculoskeletal symptom that often occurs during pregnancy due to anatomical, physiological, and hormonal changes during pregnancy. Restrictions on activities outside the home during the COVID-19 pandemic affect the frequency of physical activity in pregnant women. The risk factors for LBP in pregnant women have a strong relationship with lack of physical activity. This study aims to determine the effect of pregnancy exercise during the COVID-19 pandemic, which means that there will be remote monitoring (on the network) with the incidence of LBP in pregnant women. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental form (quasi experiment). The research respondents used were pregnant women with gestational age in the second and third trimesters in the city of Palembang who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The respondents of this study were divided into the intervention group and the control group. Each group will do a pretest and post-test using tools such as a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) questionnaire. The results of the analysis of the intervention group, there was a significant decrease in pain intensity and the effect of LBP disability as seen from the results of the pretest and post-test using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the analysis in the control group also showed significant differences, but experienced an increase in pain intensity and disability effects. The result of this scientific paper can be concluded that pregnancy exercise can reduce LBP in pregnant women.
