Abstract

Background : Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of motor disorders due to immature brain damage. Cerebral palsy is a multifactorial disease, based on the time of occurrence of brain injury, risk factors are divided into prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal factors. Based on clinical manifestations, CP subtypes are divided into spastic quadriplegic, spastic diplegic, spastic hemiplegic, dyskinetic, and ataxic. Several studies have revealed that there is a significant association between CP risk factors and the clinical type of CP. So this study aimed to analyze the association between CP risk factors and clinical types of CP. Methods : This study is an analytic observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Samples selected by using the total sampling method from the medical records of the Pediatric Growth and Development Polyclinic, Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period March 2018-March 2021. A total of 167 samples have fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criterias. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. Results : Spastic quadriplegious type (53,9%) was the most common type of CP. The risk factor with the highest distribution was low socioeconomic status (74,3%). Through bivariate analysis, it was found that there was no association between gender (p=0,186) and socioeconomic status (p=0,395) with clinical type of CP (p ≥ 0,05). Conclusion : There is no association between gender and socioeconomic status with the clinical type of CP. Keywords : Cerebral Palsy, Risk Factors of Cerebral Palsy, Spastic, Non Spastic.
