Abstract

One of the pollutants contributing to air pollution is PM10 which generally comes from transportation. Exposure to non-carcinogenic PM10 can cause coughing, shortness of breath, shortness of breath, chest pain, acute respiratory infections (ARI), asthma, and other respiratory diseases. Food vendors located on the side of the road are a population that is vulnerable to health impacts due to direct exposure to PM10. Moreover, Radial Street is a strategic location and has high economic value for many traders, and the road is often passed by vehicles. This study aims to analyze the environmental health risks of exposure to Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) against permanent food vendors in Radial Street Palembang City in 2020. The research design used in this study is a descriptive research design using quantitative analysis methods. In addition, this study also uses the Environmental Health Risk Analysis (EHRA) method. The sample in this study was 37 respondents using the Slovin formula. Univariate data analysis techniques for each variable and Environmental Health Risk Analysis (EHRA) techniques to estimate the impact of PM10 on research respondents. The result shows that the concentration of PM10 was higher at night than in the afternoon, and the highest intake real-time and intake lifetime values were obtained with the concentration of PM10 at night. On average, the only level of risk that indicates safe is the real-time intake with PM10 exposure during the day, and the others were unsafe. Coupled with that, the intake with a concentration of PM10 in the afternoon will pose a risk 15 years later. Meanwhile, the intake with a concentration of PM10 at night will pose a risk five years later. Therefore, food vendors are advised to sell in the building or by making a divider between the selling booth and the road, and food vendors can also wear masks to prevent PM10 from entering the body.
