Abstract

One of the reproductive health problems in adolescent girls is leukorrhea. Based on data from research, it shows that 75% of women in the world have experienced leukorrhea (vaginal discharge). Low level of a knowledge, attitude, and bad personal hygiene behavior are believed to have an effect on the prevalence of leukorrhea. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and personal hygiene behavior on the prevalence of leukorrhea in adolescent girls at SMK 'Aisyiyah Palembang in 2020. This study was a cross-sectional analytic study with a total of 92 respondents using a simple sampling technique. random sampling. Data analysis was carried out in several stages, namely univariate analysis, and also bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Then at the multivariate analysis stage used was a predictive model in multiple logistic regression tests. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis, it shows that there is a significant relationship between knowledge with a p-value of 0.004, attitude (p-value 0.001), and behavior (p-value 0.001) on the prevalence of leukorrhea in young girls at SMK 'Aisyiyah Palembang. The result of multivariate analysis showed that the behavioral variable (p-value 0.018) was the most dominant variable related to the prevalence of leukorrhea (PR = 3.305, 95% CI- 1.232-8.868). It can be concluded that personal hygiene behavior that is not good and occurs continuously causes the risk of the prevalence of leukorrhea in adolescent girls to increase. Researchers suggest that young women reduce the use of pantyliners, use underwear that can absorb sweat, and avoid wearing tight underwear.
