Abstract

COVID-19 is a disease caused by infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus which has a very fast transmission rate. Most patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild symptoms and have no complications, only a few develop severe symptoms. Patients with severe and critical symptoms receive treatment in the ICU which is generally due to ARDS or sepsis. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of COVID-19 patients in the ICU of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Period January – June 2021. This type of research is descriptive observational with secondary data collection and cross sectional approach. A total sample of 63 patients met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It was found from the results of the crostabulation of the characteristics of sex, age, length of stay, patient origin, CRP levels, D-dimer levels, lactate levels, number of comorbidities and number of organ failure can be parameters to see the patient's outcome. 3. The AUC value from the prognostic value of the SOFA score is 0.53 so that the SOFA score is a poor predictor model in predicting patient mortality.
