Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanasan Global dan Perubahan Iklim telah menjadi isu lingkungan global pada masa sekarang. Isu lingkungan ini semakin hari kian bertambah salah satunya dikarenakan dunia penerbangan yang didalam kegiatan operasionalnya tentu menyumbangkan emisi karbon yang dilepas ke atmosfer. Salah satu maskapai penerbangan Indonesia yaitu Garuda Indonesia, kemudian berkomitmen untuk turut ikut andil dalam melestarikan lingkungan melalui upayanya dalam mewujudkan Sustainable Development Goals. Menjalankan komitmennya tersebut, Garuda Indonesia juga ikut turut melalui implementasi beragam kebijakan dan pelaksanaan program-program berkelanjutan. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional, turut ikut melestarikan lingkungan, memiliki sumber daya manusia yang kompeten dan berkualitas, meningkatkan taraf kepuasan pelanggan, dan mewujudkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Mengejar pembangunan berkelanjutan membuat perusahaan lebih kompetitif, lebih tangguh dan mudah beradaptasi di dunia yang berubah dengan cepat, dan lebih mempersiapkan masa depan. Ini juga dapat membantu perusahaan untuk mempertahankan sumber daya manusia terbaik, dan membuatnya lebih menarik bagi investor dan perusahaan asuransi, sekaligus mengurangi risiko regulasi dan kewajiban lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisi upaya Garuda Indonesia dalam mewujudkan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) di bidang lingkungan pada tahun 2019 dengan menggunakan konsep Sustainable Development Goals di bidang lingkungan yang relevan dengan bidang aviasi. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan upaya Garuda Indonesia dalam perannya mewujudkan SDGs dilihat dari (1) Air Bersih dan Sanitasi Layak, dengan membuat konservasi air dan melakukan biopori. (2) Penanganan perubahan iklim, dengan melakukan fuel management program, Aircraft Weight Reduction Incentives, flight planning, merevitalisasi armada, serta membentuk commute option program. (3) Ekosistem Darat, dengan melakukan paper recycling, mewujudkan paperless airline, melakukan program more passengers more tree, dan turut serta dalam konservasi hewan. Kata Kunci : Garuda Indonesia, Masalah Lingkungan, Penerbangan, Sustainable Development Goals. ABSTRACT Global Warming and Climate Change has become a global environmental issue to these day. This environmental issue is increasing day by day, one of which is because the aviation in its operational activities certainly contributes carbon emissions released into the atmosphere. One of the Indonesian airlines, Garuda Indonesia, is then committed to taking part in preserving the environment through its efforts to realize the Sustainable Development Goals. Carrying out this commitment, Garuda Indonesia also participates through the implementation of various policies and the implementation of sustainable programs. This program aims to increase national economic growth, participate in preserving the environment, have competent and quality human resources, increase customer satisfaction levels, and realize community welfare. The pursuit of sustainable development makes companies more competitive, more resilient and adaptable in a rapidly changing world, and better prepare for the future. It can also help companies to retain the best human resources, and make them more attractive to investors and insurance companies, while reducing regulatory and other liability risks. This study aims to analyze Garuda Indonesia's efforts in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the environmental field in 2019 by using the concept of Sustainable Development Goals in the environmental field that is relevant to the aviation sector. The results of the study show that Garuda Indonesia's efforts in its role in realizing the SDGs are seen from (1) Clean Water and Proper Sanitation, by making water conservation and biopori. (2) Handling climate change, by implementing a fuel management program, Aircraft Weight Reduction Incentives, flight planning, fleet revitalizing, and establishing a commute option program. (3) Land Ecosystem, by conducting paper recycling, realizing a paperless airline, conducting more passengers more tree programs, and participating in animal conservation.
