Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control in the use of social media with academic procrastination of SMA Negeri 10 Ogan Ilir students. This research is a correlational quantitative research involving 137 samples from a total of 209 populations determined by using simple random sampling technique from the total population. This study uses the method of collecting data on the self-control scale in the use of social media and the academic procrastination scale obtained through the distribution of directly printed instruments. Data analysis in this study using Pearson-product Moment with the help of SPSS version 22. The results of data analysis show the correlation coefficient (rcount) rxy = 0.168 while rtable 0.168 which means that rcount = rtable (0.168 = 0.168) which means there is no positive relationship There is a significant relationship between self-control in the use of social media and academic procrastination in students at SMA Negeri 10 Ogan Ilir for the 2021/2022 academic year. These results are expected to be a reference for students and further research.
