Abstract

The objective of the research was to know and leam the fluctuation of ground water table in P8-12S with the type of overflowing A and B to P10-2S with type of overflowing C and D aon farming area at the reclamation of tidal swamp, identified all fluctuation's factors of ground water table, analysed the plant pattern appropriate pursuant to data of ground water table, elimate and tide. This research was conducted in the reclamation of tidal swamp arca at tertiary 4 and tertiary 12 in Telang Karya (P8-12S) Telang I, Subdistrict of Muara Telang and Srimulyo (P10-2S) Saleh, subdistrict of Muara Padang, district of Banyuasin. This research was started from October up to December 2004. The data of daily ground water table fluctuation aim to know the existence of ground water table of farming area so that it could be determined the appropriate plant pattern. Hydrotopography was only depict qualitative the existence of water on farm. The conception of hydrotopography was divide the farm on to four class of farm pursuant to its water condition at tide. The result of the research showed that Telang Karya was dominated by type of overflowing A and Srimulyo was dominated by type of overflowing C, meanwhile based to its water table (July to December 2004), there is a variation between one to another tertiary on the secondary block. The rainy and dry season was difficult to be predicted. The rainy season that was predicted on August to November was not look a like with the rainfall data. The rainfall data which was collected on P8-12S, P10-2S, taking place tertiary 4 and tertiary 12 ( October 2004 ) was 50 mm and 60 mm, 90 mm and 70 mm. This matter prove that rainfall level got highly varied, which can cause the happening of tide. In the earlier perception ( July 2004 ) the water table on P8-12S was nol so deep to its ground surface with the deepness gyration 35-50 cm. This matter was different to P10-2S was 115-120 cm in the dry season and 35-50 cm in rainy seasons. The plant pattern on P8-12S was paddy and paddy in two season period, but on tertiary 9 to 17 the plant patem was only paddy. The plant palm on P10-2S was paddy in general one season. On farming area which was pertained by type of overflowing A, B, C and D have potency to be cultivated in two season period, but the rainfall level had to be predicted so that availability of water which was required by crop can be available.
