Abstract

ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN FREKUENSI TRANSFUSI DARAH DENGAN STATUS GIZI PADA PASIEN ANAK TALASEMIA MAYOR DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG Latar Belakang: Talasemia merupakan penyakit hemolitik yang diturunkan secara autosomal resesif dan dapat menyebabkan anemia kronis sehingga diperlukan transfusi darah berulang. Transfusi darah yang berulang dan dalam jangka waktu yang lama dapat menyebabkan kelebihan zat besi di tubuh. Komplikasi dari penumpukkan zat besi tersebut salah satunya adalah gangguan pertumbuhan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan frekuensi transfusi darah dengan status gizi pada pasien anak Talasemia mayor di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan desain studi cross-sectional (potong lintang). Hubungan antara kedua variabel akan diuji dengan uji chi square. Hasil: Jumlah sampel yang didapatkan 75 responden yang terdiri dari 33 laki-laki (44%) dan 42 perempuan (56%). Sebanyak 38 responden (50,7%) melakukan transfusi ≤ 12 kali dalam setahun. Didapatkan 12 responden (16%) memiliki gizi kurang, 52 responden (69,3) gizi baik dan 11 responden (14,7%) gizi lebih. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil analisis didapatkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara frekuensi transfusi darah dengan status gizi pada anak Talasemia mayor (p=0,573; p>0,05). Kata Kunci: Talasemia Mayor, Frekuensi Transfusi Darah, Status Gizi. ABSTRACT THE RELATIONS BETWEEN BLOOD TRANSFUSION FREQUENCY WITH NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF CHILDREN WITH MAJOR TALASEMIA IN RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG Background: Thalassemia is a hemolytic disease that is inherited as autosomal recessive and can cause chronic anemia which is requiring repeated blood transfusions. Continous and long-term blood transfusions can led to the excess iron in the body. One of the complications of the accumulation of iron is growth disorders. Objective: The aim of this study was to dertemine the relations between blood transfusion with nutritional status of children with major thalassemia in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This study was an observational analytic study with cross sectional approach. The relation between the two variables will be analyzed using the chi square test. Results: The results of the study from 75 respondents showed that 33 men (44%) and 42 women (56%). 33 respondents (50,7%) perform transfusion ≤ 12 times a year. 12 respondents (16%) with underweight, 52 respondents (69,3%) with normal nutrition, and 11 respondents (14,7%) with overweight Conclusion: Based on the results of analysis showed no relation between blood transfusion frequency and the nutritional status of children with major thalassemia mayor (p=0,573; p>0,05).
