Abstract

Urinary tract stone disease is the formation of stones in the urinary tract. Dietary habits play a role in the origin of urinary tract stone. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. Hyperuricemia is a blood uric acid level above the normal value. Uric acid levels among Indonesians are still poorly controlled and is one of the risk factors of urinary tract stone, so this study aims to determine the relationship between uric acid levels and the occurrence of BSK in RSUP. Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2020. The method of this study is analytical observational research with a cross-sectional design, the sampling technique is a non-probability sampling method, also known as consecutive sampling. This study is analyzed by univariate and bivariate (Spearman's test). Sample is consisted of 52 samples that met the inclusion criteria, the most distribution results were found in male patients (63.5%) and in the 46-55 year age group (32.7%). Most patients had a normal body mass index (46.2%), Hyperuricemia in male patients in total of 19 samples while in female patients in total of 11 samples. The majority of patients had an acidic urine pH (75%). Most of the stones were located in the kidney in total of 34 samples. Analysis using the Spearman test obtained r = 0.30 so that the relationship is positive with enough relationship strength and the direction of the relationship is in the same direction.
