Abstract

Beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica L.) is one of the plants that has antibacterial activity such as Propionibacterium acne. Peel-off gel mask is one type of face mask that has advantages in its use, which is easy to remove and lift like an elastic membrane. best. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum formulation and the best formulation of peel-off gel mask preparations of 4%, 5%, beluntas leaf ethanol extract and 13%, 15% polyvinyl alcohol on the physical test and the value of the diameter of the antibacterial inhibition zone of the peel-off mask preparation. gel. The optimum formulation of the peel-off gel mask preparation was analyzed using a factorial design expert 12 design and the responses were physical stability such as organoleptic, viscosity, pH, spreadability and drying time. The antibacterial activity test was carried out by the well method by looking at the inhibition zone formed. The results obtained from this study obtained the optimum formulation based on the response of physical properties which include viscosity, dispersion and drying time, namely the second formula (F2), 5% ethanol extract of beluntas leaves and 13% PVA. The results of the statistical test of antibacterial activity in vitro showed that the best formulation was the second formulation (F2) with a preparation containing 5% ethanol extract of beluntas leaves and 13% PVA with an average inhibition zone diameter of 9.2200 mm which indicated moderate strength as an antibacterial.
