Abstract

This research was conducted in two experiments designed according to a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 10 isolates coded JGPB260521A, JGPB260521B, WTTJC260521A, WTTJC260521B, WTTJC290521A, WTTJC290521B, JGMS160621, JGST170621, WTTJC290621, and controls with three replicates. The methods used in this study included a test of fungal colonization on corn leaves and a test of the potential for entomopathogenic fungi that were proven to be endophytic against S. frugiperda larvae. The variables observed in this study included conidia density, conidia viability, leaf area has eaten, larval body weight, larval droppings weight, larval mortality, LT50, LT95, percentage of pupae appearing, normal and abnormal pupae, weight and length of pupae, number of imago appearing, normal and abnormal imago, body length and a wing span of imago, length of life of imago, number of eggs laid, number of hatching larvae, number of unhatched larvae, the effect of entomopathogenic fungi on maize seedling growth, dry weight, wet weight, plant height, leaf length, leaf width, number of leaves, root length, temperature, concentration, reduced volume, and oxygen consumption. The results of the confirmation test and colonization of entomopathogenic fungi were found to be 5 endophytic isolates, namely WTTJC260521A, WTTJC260521B, WTTJC290521A, WTTJC290521B, and JGMS160621. The results showed that the highest percentage of mortality occurred in the treatment of isolate WTTJC290521A with Beauveria bassiana species at 37.33% with the fungus killing 50% of the tested insects 14.50 days and killing 95% of the tested insects 31.01 days. The lowest number of eggs produced by female imago occurred in the WTTJC290521A treatment as many as 78.00 eggs. The lowest hatching eggs occurred in the WTTJC260521A treatment, which was 54.33 eggs/female. The lowest number of unhatched eggs in the WTTJC260521A treatment was 40.00 eggs. In the test of agronomic variables, the effect of endophytic entomopathogenic fungi on maize growth was proven. This can be seen from the observation on the 14th day which was carried out by looking at the variables of leaf length and plant height which showed a significant difference. The highest average leaf length in WTTJC260521B treatment was 16.46 cm, while the highest average plant height in the same treatment was 23.97 cm. The conclusion from this study there were 5 endophytic isolates, namely WTTJC260521A, WTTJC260521B, WTTJC290521A, WTTJC290521B, and JGMS160621 with the highest percentage of endophytic fungal colonization on maize seedlings in the treatment of isolates WTTJC290521A and WTTJC290521B was 33.3%. the highest mortality in the treatment of isolate WTTJC290521A with Beauveria bassiana species was 37.33%. In the test of growth was proven. This can be seen from the observation on the 14th day which was carried out by looking at the variables of leaf length and plant height which showed a significant difference.agronomic variables, the effect of endophytic entomopathogenic fungi on maize
