Abstract

Students can search for final project information through various applications, one of which is the SIPETA application which is owned by the Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Sriwijaya University. However, the search on the application has a drawback that is only able to search for information with the exact same keywords and also sequentially based on the keywords entered by the user. This is because the system has not implemented information retrieval. Therefore, the problem formulated in this research is how to implement and evaluate the CBR method with Cosine Similarity to the student's final task search. Based on these problems, the purpose of this research is to implement and find out the evaluation of the CBR method with Cosine Similarity to the student's final task search. The method used in accordance with the problem and also the purpose of this study is to use Case-Based Reasoning where the method consists of 4 phases including retrieve, reuse, revise and retain combined with the algorithm cosine similarity for the calculation process to find the similarity value between data. The evaluation obtained from the research results shows that the highest and lowest similarity values that can be achieved by the system are 0.628961 and 0.171224 with a threshold value of 0.1 from the amount of data stored as much as 143 data where the acquisition of the value is influenced by a large number of recommended data. Evaluation Comparison with the SIPETA application shows that the system has the ability to provide data recommendation results with keywords even though the keywords are reversed or changed the order and is able to display data containing keywords even though only part of the keywords entered by the user and display data sorted according to order of data that is most relevant to the keywords by looking at the similarity value.
