Abstract

Pineapple (Ananas comosus L Merr) is a type of tropical plant originating from Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay. This type of plant is included in the pineapple family (Family Bromeliaceae). However, there are several obstacles found in pineapple plants, one of which is disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of leaf spot disease on pineapple plants from Betung Village, Lubuk Keliat District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The benefit of this research is to be able to find out and provide information about the development of leaf spot disease caused by the pathogen Curvularia sp on pineapple plants. This research was conducted in August 2021. This study was conducted to determine the development of leaf spot disease on pineapple plants using a randomized block design (RAK) with 2 treatments and 10 replications, as follows: P1: Treatment of Curvularia (without being injured), P2: Treatment of Curvularia (Wounded). The pathogen taken in Betung Village is the fungus Curvularia. And at the time of the research, it was shown that the fungus growing at the research site was the same as that taken from field samples in Betung Village, namely the Curvularia mushroom. The size of the conidia of the Curvularia fungus at the study site was 18.41 μm x 5.95 μm with an oval shape and 3 partitions. In the treatment with and without stitches, the length and width of the average spots were significantly different or affected. Keywords: Pineapple plant, Curvularia, Leaf spot
