Abstract

The aims of this study are: (1) to describe the business and economic development of BUMDes Waserda MKJ, (2) to describe the utilization of village funds carried out by BUMDes Waserda MKJ, (3) to formulate a strategy for developing BUMDes Waserda MKJ which is expected to become a pillar of the national economy. This research was conducted in Mekar Jadi Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research location was chosen based on the consideration that Mekar Jadi Village is one of the villages in Musi Banyuasin Regency which has a BUMDes and has been provided with funds by the village government. Sampling was based on relevant stakeholders such as BUMDes Management, Village Apparatus, KUD Members, BPD Members, PKK Women, Farmers Groups, Traders Groups, and Youth Organizations. BUMDes Waserda MKJ in business and economic development has a big role and responsibility in advancing the business in order to get maximum profit. BUMDes management is needed who can manage the BUMDes business so that it can run optimally and expand business units which of course have great potential in business and economic development in Mekar Village. Waserda MKJ will be better known outside the region, growing rapidly, and its existence is able to improve the village economy. BUMDes funds are used for BUMDes management operations, ranging from being used for savings and loan business units, payment of wages for PT PMC employees, payment of masks, purchase of a number of stamps, stamp ink, F4 paper, staples, printer and laptop services to consumption for management meetings, making uniforms. BUMDes management, and operational allowances for BUMDes management. SWOT analysis for the strategy of developing BUMDes Waserda MKJ in the context of poverty alleviation in Mekar Jadi Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency using the W-O strategy.
