Abstract

Robot is a mechanical device that can perform physical tasks, both using supervision and human control using a pre-defined program. One example is a robot that prevents sign obstructions. The ability to avoid obstacles can be given to a robot in various ways, one of which is by using a proximity sensor. The use of proximity sensors as a barrier detection can be done by detecting the presence or absence of obstacles. The mobile robot that is designed is a wheeled robot that has the ability to avoid obstacles using a proximity sensor, then the presence or absence of obstacles will be input to the ATMEGA328 microcontroller. The input is processed which will then instruct the two DC motors to use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to move around to avoid obstacles. From the test results show that the mobile robot avoiding the prohibition mark through the designed has been able to function properly in accordance with the design made.
