Abstract

Embacang Kelekar Village is one of the villages in Kelekar Subdistrict which has changes in land use from rubber land to pineapple land. Changes in land use are driven by reduced productivity and a longer waiting time for harvesting rubber plants than pineapples. This change makes the land potential to changes in the physical properties of the soil due to changes in the types of plants on it. This study aims to analyze the physical properties of the soil on rubber fields that are maintained and rubber fields that are converted into pineapple fields. The research was conducted using a very detailed survey method on an area of 4 hectares with a map scale of 1:4.000. Determination of the sampling point based on the Purposive Sampling method. Soil physical parameters analyzed include structure, porosity, bulk density, permeability and soil organic matter. Sampling was carried out in four types of land that had been selected, namely rubber plantations, pineapple fields aged 5 months, pineapple fields aged 10 months, and pineapple fields 18 months as many as two samples taken from Horizon A or at a soil depth of 10-15 cm. The results showed that the physical properties of the rubber land converted into pineapple fields changed in all parameters. Keywords: Land Use Changes, Soil Physic Properties, Rubber, Pineapple.
