Abstract

This study aims to describe the Implementation of School Literacy Movement in SD Negeri 157 Palembang. The research used is qualitative descriptive research. Subjects in this study are principals amounted to 1 person, teachers amounted to 4 people, 6 students, 1 person librarian and 6 parents. Data collection is done through observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. Implementation of the literacy movement and the school community has been seen to be enthusiastic and supportive. Baed on the results of data collection obtained in class, the teacher is good enough in doing literacy learning, as well as in libraries, students and librarians help each other in improving literacy in schools. Enthusiastic students were fairly good, from the reading activities of the class before the learning begins or visit the library. Although not all students have responded well to the literacy in this school. So it can be concluded that the school literacy movement implemented in SD Negeri 157 Palembang is sufficient in accordance with the guidelines of school literacy movement.
