Abstract

Anestesi merupakan tindakan menghilangkan rasa sakit ketika melakukan pembedahan dan berbagai prosedur lain yang menimbulkan rasa sakit pada tubuh. Teknik anestesi ada berbagai macam yaitu umum, spinal, epidural, kaudal dan lain sebagainya. Pada pasien geriatri terdapat beberapa perubahan yang mempengaruhi farmakodinamik obat pada tubuh geriatri. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif observasional. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien geriatri yang melakukan total hip arthroplasty dengan anestesi di RSMH Periode 2020 - 2021 yaitu sebanyak 20 sampel. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil yaitu mayoritas sampel ( 13 dari 20 sampel ) melakukan operasi total hip arthroplasty dengan teknik anestesi epidural. Teknik anestesi epidural merupakan teknik untuk memblokade neuraxial yang dapat mengurangi insidensi deep vein thrombosis atau emboli paru yang didiagnosa melalui radiologi serta mengurangi waktu operasi dan mengurangi intraoperatif blood loss dibandingkan pada prosedur yang sama namun menggunakan anestesi umum.
