Abstract

This research is a system that can classify a text in the form of a synopsis of a novel into its genre group. Genre is the story style in a novel, there are many genres in the novel including the genres of history, horror, mystery, psychology, romance and others. Before the synopsis classification is carried out, it will go through a preprocessed text process and then take the weight value using the TF-IDF method, after that it will be classified using the Random Forest Classifer method. The results of the classification using Random Forest 50 trees have the greatest accuracy, namely 60.8% with precision, recall, f-1, history 66.1%, 78%, 71.56%, horror 46.15%, 48%, 47,06%, mystery 57.5%, 46%, 51.11%, psychology 66.04%, 70%, 67.96%, romance 67.39%, 62%, 64.58%.
