Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investig^te the species of fruit flies trapped by mixture of sweet flag oil and star fruit exfcract and to messure longevity of mixture to trap fruit flies. The observation was conducted in Sembawa village, Banyuasin III regency, Banyuasin District from August 2007 - November 2007. The method used was CompJetely Randomized BJocked Design, in six treatments and 4 repiications. Parameters of observations were number and species of fruit flies trapped, longevity of trapped, number and species of fruit flies attack on star fruits. The result showed that two species of fruit flies was trapped, i.e. Bactrocera carambola (4.981) and Bactrocera umbrosus (870). The longest longevity of basil oil to trap fruit flies was 54.75 days.
