Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian pemanfaatan kondensat dari produk samping Liguid Petroleum Gas (LPG) untuk campuran biodiesel minyak jarak pagar dan solar serta karakterisasinya. Biodiesel dibuat dengan reaksi esterifikasitransesterifikasi minyak jarak pagar dan methanol dengan katalis H2SO4. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mencampurkan kondensat, solar dan biodiesel dengan perbandingan tertentu dengan total 100 g. Analisa hasil meliputi berat jenis, viskositas dan kalor pembakaran, serta campuran yang dilakukan dengan perbandingan variasi berat pada kondensat: solar : biodiesel yaitu 20 : 60 :20, 30 : 50 : 20, dan 40 : 40 : 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yang memenuhi kriteria spesifikasi solar adalah dengan perbandingan kondensat : solar : biodiesel yaitu 20 : 60 : 20 dan 40 : 40 : 20 dengan hasil berturut-turut adalah 0,8201 g/cm3 dan 0,8210 g/cm3 untuk berat jenis, perbandingan 40 : 40 : 20 sebesar 5,6656 cSt untuk viskositas, dan perbandingan 20 : 60 : 20 sebesar 43,1445 kJ/g untuk kalor pembakaran.
