Abstract
The research about adsorption and desorpstion of Mn2+ in of chitincellulose adsorbent has been carried out. Chitin was extracted from snail shell and cellulose from plant rice. Characterization of chitin and cellulose was conducted by determination of water and ash content. Adsorption of Mn has been in chitin, cellulose and modification of chitin cellulose has been studied through determination of kinetic and thermodynamic parameter. Kind of interaction between with Mn studied by desorption. The result showed the highest water content in chitin was 0.0328 % and the highest ash content was 0.0779 %. The result showed the highest water content in cellulose was 0.184% and the highest ash content was 0.165%. Adsorption rate constant in Mn2+ follow the orde 1 with chitin-cellulose largest than cellulose and largest than chitin. Interaction adsorbent modification with Mn2+ has higher adsorption on capacity than chitin and cellulose. The largest percentage desorption was found in EDTA as a desorption reagent with desorption of Mn2+ was 68,39 % showed Chemical interaction between Mn2+ adsorbent with formation of complex.
