Abstract

It has been done research on usage of tuak yeast isolates Usage on bioethanol fermentation of oil palm empty firuit bunch. The purpose of this research was to study pretreatment process using steam explosion with basic condition, to study the enzymatically hydrolysis process using Trichoderma reseei in bioethanol production, to study using of tuak yeast isolates in the fermentation process in the production of bioethanol and determine the effect of fermentation by wine yeast on ethanol content (%) is generated. The observed parameters were reduction in lignin content after pretreatment decreased 2.25% fforn the previous lignin content of 5.21%, glucose levels before and after hydrolysis and ethanol levels were obtained. The results showed that reducing sugar after hydrolysis is higher than 3.61% reducing sugar levels before hydrolyzed, isolate yeast form of T4, T5 and T10 potentially as yeast converting cellulosic biomass and the highest levels of ethanol produced by yeast fermentation T5 with 1 day.
