Abstract

Catalytic study of H5BW|204o and HLjSiWnCUo by conversion of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanon mixture to adipic acid has been done. The characterization of product was done by measuring melting point, identification using FT-IR, analysis by GC-MS and ’HNMR and 13CNMR spectrometer. The influence of reaction time and temperature were studied at 7, 8, 9 and 10 hours and temperature at 80°C, 9 °C and 100°C. The results show that the product of adipic acid by using catalyst H5BW12O40 have yield 46-67% with melting point 150-152°C and RjSiW^C^o have yield 3,7% with melting point 152°C. The time and temperature effect using catalyst HsBW^Ctto gave highest product in 9 hours and 90°C with 67% yield. At the same condition the highest product using catalyst H4SiWi204o is 3,7%. The identification using FT-IR spectrophotometer showed that FT-IR spectra of adipic acid product is similiar to FT-IR spectra of adipic acid Standard. Analysis using GC-MS showed that adipic acid product by conversion cyclohexanol and cyclohexanon mixture is pure product with formation of several by products. The analysis using *HNMR and 13CNMR spectrometer showed that structure of conversion product is agree with literatery of adipic acid.
