Abstract

Interference research had been done on the interference of Fe and Cr in analysis Ni with atomic absorption spectrophotometry and its application in zinc electroplating waste. Data processing was performed statistical analysis of variance using a factorial design with 95% confidence level. Fe concentration of 50 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, and 5000 ppm did not give a significantly different effect on the analysis of 3 ppm Ni, because F value of the calculated was still smaller than the F table, F value of the calculated was 2.2816 while the F table was 2.76. Cr concentration of 50 ppm , 500 ppm , 1000 ppm , 5000 ppm gave significantly different effect on the analysis of 3 ppm Ni, because F value of calculated is greater than F table, the F valued of calculated was 17.8301 while the F table was 2.76. Fe concentration of 50 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 5000 ppm respectively mixed with Cr 50 ppm , 500 ppm, 1000 ppm , 5000 ppm, giving a significantly different effect on the analysis of 3 ppm Ni, because F value of the calculated was greater than the F table , where calculated F value was 588.7961 and F table was 2.76. Waste water of zinc electroplating contained 0.25 ppm Ni, and 39.18 ppm Fe and 5,617 ppm Cr. There was a decrease in the concentration reading 32.19 % on the simulated solution which concentration approached the concentration of Fe and Cr in the waste, that is a bath containing 50 ppm Fe and 50 ppm Cr.
