Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the response of Aloe Vera Plant (Aloe vera. L) in peat and ultisol soils with different doses of NPK fertilizer (16-16-16). The research was conducted from September 2020 to December 2020 in Palembang (104o71’51’’ E; 9o25’’ S). This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications and 8 treatments consisting of P1 = peat soil (control), P2 = NPK 10 g + peat soil, P3 = NPK 20 g + peat soil, P4 = NPK 30 g + peat soil, P5 = ultisol soil (control), P6 = NPK 10 g + ultisol soil, P7 = NPK 20 g + ultisol soil, P8 = NPK 30 g + ultisol soil and the observed data were analyzed by using Analysis of Varians (ANOVA) and further analysis using Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that treatment with the addition of NPK fertilizer by 10 g/plant on ultisol soil increase the variables of midrib length, midrib thickness, and number of midribs better than other treatments. However for parameters of midrib width, midrib weight, and plant weight gain, the treatment of ultisol with NPK fertilizer by 20 g/plant giving better result than other treatments.In this study peat soil did not give better result than ultisol as planting media.
