Abstract

This study aims to test the performance of a horizontal type crusher and sifter machine with manure (cow dung) based on the drying time of the material and the rotational speed of the crusher blade and for reducing the size of the manure material. This research was carried out from July 2021 to November 2021 at the Workshop and Agricultural Machinery Tool Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The method used was a Factorial Randomized Design (RAKF) with two research factors, namely the drying time of the material (A) and the rotation speed of the blade (B) with three treatment levels and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The results of this study indicate that the drying time of the material has a significant effect on the parameters of the effective capacity of the tool, fuel requirements and the percentage of fineness fraction, while the blade rotation speed treatment has a significant effect on the effective capacity and fuel requirements, as well as the interaction between drying time and speed. blade rotation has a significant effect on the parameters of the effective capacity of the tool and fuel requirements. Effective capacity of the appliance highest in the combined treatment and 25 days old drying blade rotation speed of 250 rpm (A3B3) that is equal to 150.57 kg/hour. Combination treatment A3B3 pretty frugal in fuel requirement is 2.11 liters/hour and produces a fraction of the fineness of 96.14%. Power or power tool is highest in the combined treatment of 15 days and a longer drying blade rotation speed of 250 rpm (A1B3) that is equal to 1.80 hp and the highest efficiency of work contained in the combined treatment of 25 days drying time and the rotation speed of the blades 150 rpm (A3B1) that is equal to 99.68%.
